Gulaal Holi event Hosted by JCI HYDERABAD SAMSKRITI

  Gulaal Holi: Celebrating the Divine Colours of Lord Holi JCI Hyderabad Samskriti, a nonprofit organization that promotes cultural and social awareness, hosted the annual Gulaal Holi event on March 8th. The festival, named after the colorful powder, or gulaal, that is thrown on people during the festivities, is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. The festival holds a special significance in Hindu mythology, as it commemorates the victory of Lord Krishna over the demoness Holika. Lord Holi, a manifestation of Lord Krishna, is the presiding deity of the festival, and the festival is a time for people to come together and embrace the spirit of love, unity, and harmony.  Lord Jagannath Mahaprasad is a unique and holy offering made to Lord Jagannath, the presiding deity of the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, India. The offering is made with great devotion and purity of heart, and it is believed that partaking in this prasad is a way of connecting with the divine. The Mahaprasad is made up of over 56 varieties of food items that are cooked in the temple kitchen, which is considered to be the largest kitchen in the world. The food is prepared in earthen pots and cooked using traditional methods, without the use of any modern equipment or machinery. The kitchen is run by a group of temple cooks who have inherited the art of cooking from their ancestors, and they work tirelessly to ensure that the prasad is cooked to perfection.
